Deliverance

"Deliverance" a special painting by Victoria Barnhill for Easter of 2022. It is an original painting, acrylic paint, on a 16" x 12" gallery wrapped canvas (1.5" thick with painted sides). This landscape painting style lies somewhere between Impressionism and Expressionism, and even has some metalic gold streaking in the sky.
 
This stunning landscape featuring the cross is full of depth and color, but even more special is the meaning behind the painting. There are crimson flowers encompassed by black at the bottom of the painting. The crimson color fades as the flowers trail up the pathway, and are found white as snow at the foot of the cross (“Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be white as snow.” Isaiah 1:18). It is a beautiful depiction of what Christ has done for us, for all are sinners in need of a Savior. “He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him” (2 Corinthians 5:21). This painting is named "Deliverance" because through Christ alone we are saved from the penalty of our sin, and made righteous through Jesus' death, burial and resurrection. "Whoever professes with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and believes in their heart that God raised Him up from the dead, will be saved (Romans 10:9). Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe.
